James Louis Brevelle, Jr. was born January 26, 1934 in Boulder, Colorado. James enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1952 after graduating from Sherman High School in Texas. He married his wife of 44 years, Christine, on March 10, 1956 in Yuma, Arizona. After graduating from Austin College, he enlisted in the Army and served in Special Forces until retiring in 1974.His Awards and Decorations include: Bronze Star with an Oak Leaf Cluster and V device, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) with Oak Leaf Cluster and V Device, Good Conduct Medal w/ Bronze Clasp w/ 4 Loops, Meritorious Unit Emblem, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 8 Campaign Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Vietnam Parachute Badge, Vietnamese Jump Wings, and Special Forces Tab.
